In the spirit of sharing experiences, this is a live document about my journey changing from classic academic career in Mathematics (Game Theory and Computer Science) into AI Safety.

2026 August

  • Planning for grants and long-term research, I was encouraged to incorporate “AI topics”, instead of long-lasting questions in my field. I plan to apply for grants to research AI from a mathematical point of view.

2026 September

  • Applied to Anthropic Fellowship and Iliad Fellowship to “get my hands dirty” because I feel I need more context to make a contribution in the AI space.
  • Got accepted in Iliad Fellowship, I start it on October 2026. By the way, if you are thinking of applying, you can use my referral code.
  • Completed BlueDot courses: Future of AI, AGI strategy, Technical AI safety.
  • Applied to BlueDot “Technical sprint” (open only for alumni of Technical AI Safety course) to get guidance on my first AI Safety project.
